Editor-in-Chief Lecture
Abstract
I am pleased to share the first issue of the second quarter of the 2026 volume of the Journal of Data Analytics and Intelligent Decision Making (JDAID). This issue represents an important step in our effort to create a globally recognized platform for impactful research that connects data analytics with systems for intelligent decision-making. We are excited to present six original and high-quality articles that align with the journal’s focus on data-driven modeling, optimization, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and business intelligence. The current issue features innovative research tackling real-world problems across various fields: Cybersecurity in IoT Networks: The first paper examines new methods for securing IoT infrastructures, particularly in smart urban and home environments. AI in Power Grids: The second article investigates AI-based protection schemes for modern power grids, discussing technologies, current challenges, and future possibilities. Optimization in SDN-based IoT: The third study offers a load-tolerant framework for resource allocation in software-defined networking (SDN) based IoT systems. Data-Driven Simulation in Banking: The fourth paper presents a data-driven simulation model for granting access to open banking APIs, providing insights for secure and efficient financial services. Process Mining Review: The fifth article offers a detailed review of process discovery methods in process mining, highlighting key trends, approaches, and ongoing challenges. Multi-Label Text Classification: The sixth contribution tackles the issue of imbalanced data in multi-label business text classification. It suggests adjustments in BCE weighting and threshold optimization for rare labels within BERT-based models. I want to thank all authors for their valuable contributions, the anonymous reviewers for their thorough evaluations, and the editorial board members for their ongoing support. Their combined efforts help ensure the scientific quality and global relevance of JDAID. As we continue, the Journal of Data Analytics and Intelligent Decision Making is dedicated to upholding strong standards of double-blind peer review, ethical publishing, and collaborative research across disciplines. We invite researchers, faculty members, graduate students, and industry experts to submit original research articles, review papers, and case studies that fit the journal’s focus. Topics of interest include but are not limited to data analytics, intelligent systems, decision support systems, machine learning, optimization, and their applications in engineering, management, finance, and smart infrastructures. We look forward to receiving your submissions and enhancing JDAID’s role as a reliable space for scientific exchange and innovation.
Sincerely,
Jalal Rezaeenour,
